چکیده

2014 The regions of stability of spherical, cylindrical, and lamellar phases of microemulsions are calculated within mean-field theory. In the cylindrical phase, thermal fluctuations determine a temperature dependent persistence length below which the cylinders are rigid (rod-like) and above which the cylinders are flexible (polymer-like). The length of the polymer-like chains depends on concentration and temperature. The radii of gyration of these flexible microemulsions are also calculated. J. Physique LETTRES 45 (1984) L-69 L-74

Reentrant Phase Separation in Microemulsions.

We propose a mechanism for reentrant phase separation in globular microemulsions based on the combined effects of a shape transition and attractive interactions. Long cylindrical globules can phase separate at relatively low interglobular attractions. A transformation from elongated globules to compact spherical drops alters the balance between the entropy and effective interglobule interaction...

Polyelectrolyte-Modified Microemulsions: Formation of Nanoparticles in the Presence of Anionic and Cationic Polyelectrolyte

The paper is focused on the formation of calcium phosphate nanoparticles (CP) in polyelectrolyte-modified microemulsions, in a microemulsion template phase consisting of cyclohexane, water, anionic surfactantant and cosurfactant, in the presence of anionic and cationic polyelectrolyte. It is shown that polyelectrolyte, can be incorporated into the individual inverse microemulsion droplets. The ...

Cylinder to sphere transition in reverse microemulsions: the effect of hydrotropes.

The effect of hydrotropes on the geometry of reverse water-in-oil AOT-microemulsions is investigated as a function of water content, and hydrotrope additive architecture. SANS reveals that hydrotropes induce cylindrical morphologies which transition to ellipsoidal and then spherical geometries with increasing water content (w). The length of the elongated particles appeared to show some depende...
